Govindapuram Sree Parthasarathi Temple, gracefully perched on the top of a tiny hillock was an aesthetically pleasing and architecturally perfect structure in the good old days. Situated in Govindapuram area which stands on the eastern side of Kozhikode city -between Mankavu and Puthiyara, the temple was in a very dilapidated condition- a heart-rendering sight to the pilgrims.

The temple stands along one acre and thirty cents area surrounded by a compound wall. The two-staired sanctum sanctorum has a circumstance of 56 Kol. On the north of the temple, there was remnants of a square pond having area of 56 Kol. There was remnants of Mukhamandapam, Chuttambalam, Vilakkumadom, Koothambalam and four gopurams which give ample proof that it was a Mahakshetra. There were three wells also in the temple premises.
